Backend depth, product perspective.

A senior backend engineer who has spent more than a decade designing distributed systems, modernising platforms, and guiding teams through high-stakes delivery.

My work sits at the intersection of scale, reliability, and engineering leadership.

I have built systems across fintech, social platforms, automotive IoT, e-commerce, and local services. The domains changed; the core challenge did not: make complex behaviour predictable, measurable, and easier for a team to evolve.

My strongest tools are Java and the Spring ecosystem, backed by event-driven architecture, distributed data systems, and a pragmatic approach to cloud operations. I also use TypeScript and Python when the problem calls for them.

Today I'm especially interested in the overlap between backend engineering and applied AI — using agents and automation to improve development workflows without giving up review, safety, or technical judgment.

    Senior Software Engineer

    Own full-stack architecture and delivery for a financial technology platform serving more than 100,000 users.

    • Work across web product experiences, GraphQL services, serverless workflows, data stores, authentication, observability, and production operations.
    • Delivered roughly 70% of roadmap features across high-traffic backend systems, from design through production release.
    • Built and operated an event-driven AWS platform spanning Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Cognito, EventBridge, CloudFormation, S3, CloudWatch, SSM, SES, Kinesis Firehose, and Athena.
    • Integrated Stripe payments, OneSignal notifications, and Algolia search through product-facing APIs and operational workflows.
    • Parallelised integration tests and release workflows, cutting UAT deployment time by 50% and saving more than 30 minutes per release.
    • Drove adoption of AI coding tools and MCP workflows to improve engineering velocity, quality gates, and delivery consistency.

    Led platform engineering for real-time risk control across feature computation, event processing, rule execution, and policy operations.

    • Rebuilt the rule engine and redesigned Kafka/Spark streaming with Redis caching, reducing P99 latency from 60 seconds to 20 seconds at 300K QPS and 1B events per day.
    • Architected an end-to-end risk platform for rule and policy authoring, traffic replay, and A/B testing, reducing non-compliant content by 8% app-wide.

    • Built the learner experience with Next.js, React, and TypeScript, covering registration, dashboards, practice, bookmarks, mistakes, wordbook, progress, and account settings.
